1. What this policy covers
Mooseentertain uses cookies and similar technologies (such as the browser's localStorage and sessionStorage APIs) when you visit our platform. This policy explains what these technologies are, how we use them, and the choices available to you under applicable Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA, Québec's Law 25, and the laws of other provinces where applicable.
2. What are cookies and local storage?
A "cookie" is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit it. "Local storage" is a similar in-browser storage mechanism with a slightly larger capacity, typically used by modern web applications. Mooseentertain relies primarily on local storage to keep your virtual game data on your device — we generally do not place tracking cookies.
3. What we store and why
3.1 Strictly necessary local storage
These items are essential for the platform to operate and do not require your consent under Canadian law:
- Age confirmation — remembers that you have confirmed you are 18+, so we don't show the age gate on every visit.
- Game state — your virtual coin balance, wins, losses, current streak and best streak for each game. None of this is personal information.
- Cookie choice — remembers whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies.
3.2 Functional local storage
Used to improve your experience. Stored only if you accept:
- Preferences — UI choices such as dropdown states or last-visited section.
3.3 Analytics / advertising
Mooseentertain does not currently use third-party analytics, advertising trackers or behavioural advertising cookies. If this changes in the future, we will update this Policy and request your explicit consent.
4. Third-party content
We load a small JavaScript icon library (Lucide) and web fonts (Google Fonts) from third-party CDNs. These providers may receive your IP address as part of standard HTTP requests. We do not authorize them to track you.
5. How long is data kept?
Local storage entries remain on your device until you delete them (for example, by clearing your browser data) or until our scripts remove them. Nothing is sent to our servers.
6. Managing your choices
You may at any time:
- Click "Decline" on the cookie banner to reject non-essential storage;
- Clear cookies and local storage from your browser settings (this will reset your virtual coin balance);
- Use private browsing or incognito mode to avoid persistent storage.
7. Your privacy rights in Canada
Under PIPEDA and Québec's Law 25, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we may hold about you, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec. Because Mooseentertain generally stores data locally on your device and not on our servers, exercising these rights is usually as simple as clearing your browser data.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated on the platform.
